Drilling in an urban setting
Crossing rivers
Installation of outlets or pumping stations
Contaminated soil
Installation over long distances

We have used horizontal directional drilling to install conduits for gas, water mains, electricity, sewer and fibre optics. There are many possible applications for directional drilling. Here are a few examples.

Drilling in an urban setting without interrupting traffic

Drilling under the Henri IV highway, Quebec, Canada
Length drilled: 66 metres (rock)
Hole diameter: 760 mm
Conduit installed for electrical wiring

Crossing rivers and other sensitive environments

Drilling under the St. John River, New Brunswick, Canada
Length drilled: 780 metres (sand/clay)
Hole diameter: 1060 mm
Conduit installed for the passage of natural gas

Installation of outlets or pumping stations without disturbing the banks of a waterway

Installation of horizontal drains and treatment systems for contaminated soil
